The winning team shot and landed their tennis cannonball closest to the target

which was 75 yards away.

 

i.e The team that projected their ball to land closest to the target - was the winner. The Target was 75 yards away - The winner got within 6 feet 2 inches of the target. Each team member won a $500 gift certificate from the MacHaus.

Each 3 person team constructed an ice cannon that was used to project three (3) tennis balls onto a visual target 75 yards from the firing line.   No more than three people worked as part of a team.  The team had 12 hours to prepare the cannon for firing.  Each team had 30 minutes to bring their cannon to the firing line and prepare the three charges.The team then had 25 minutes to fire the tennis balls. After each ball was fired the team made aiming corrections to try to get closer to the target.
